We secured planning consent in spring 2025 for two mews houses on a challenging back-land site in the Nightingale Triangle (LB Wandsworth), replacing 17 dilapidated garages. The single-storey scheme creates two carefully considered, highly sustainable family homes arranged around a secluded courtyard. An existing mature tree has been retained at the heart of the site, complemented by new planting to enhance the sense of greenery and enclosure.Although backland sites are invariably contentious in the surrounding community our consent demonstrates that with tenacity, understanding and judgement, as well as a totally committed client team, planning approvals are achievable and urban renewal is possible.
