THE NEW INN

THE NEW INN

THE NEW INN, BIGGLESWADE, CENTRAL BEDS

Fronting onto the main square of a market town in the Midlands, this Grade II listed pub is made up of various distinct structures dating back to the seventeenth century. We have been instructed to produce planning proposals that include a deli and bar in the restored and re-fitted seventeenth century section. As the narrow site backs away from the square, the building become less sensitive and it is here that we are proposing striking contemporary replacements that will accommodate a distillery, bar and residential accommodation. Although the architectural approach is decidedly contemporary, continuity will be ensured through the careful use of materials and evocative form-making.

Planning was granted by Central Bedfordshire Council in November 2020.
